DX-5000G Technical SpecsDX-5000G Technical Specs:
Main characteristics for the DX-5000G housing All functions of the 5000G camera are available underwater. A 0.6x wide-angle conversion lens for the DX-5000G housing attaches directly to the housing using the specially designed bayonet mount. Comes with dual fiber-optic cable connector sockets. Provides easy adjustment of aperture, shutter speed, and other settings using the camera's up-down (sub-command) dial. Includes a versatile internal flash diffuser that with the push of a lever slips into place to soften the camera's internal flash, or moves out of the way for strong, clear lighting. Built with a solid grip protector for a secure hold underwater. Ruggedly constructed with a depth rating of 55 meters / 180ft. Comes with a special inner and outer LCD monitor hood to improve LCD visibility in strong light.
Main characteristics for the 5000G 1/1.8-inch primary-color CCD with effective image quality of 5.13 mega pixels 28 - 85mm optical 3x zoom from wide-angle to telephoto World's fastest shutter release time lag of 0.12 second Macro photography shooting range as close as 1 cm / 1/3 inch Aperture priority and manual exposure modes AF target selection Six scene modes to match different shooting conditions Can be powered by a high capacity lithium-ion rechargeable battery, AA batteries, or an AC adaptor Compatible with PictBrige to directly connect to a printer to print images The specifications and appearance of the DX-5000 and 5000G here were described as of October 2004. Please note that there may be changes without notice.
Specifications for the DX-5000G housing Material: Polycarbonate Depth rating: 55 m / 180 ft. Dimensions (W x H x W): 150 x 94.9 x 103 mm / 5.9 x 3.7 x 4.1 inches Weight: Approximately 450 g / 15.9 oz. (housing only)
The 5000G camera has many other useful features An exposure compensation function. If a subject has too much contrast, or you would like to photograph a white subject even whiter or a dark subject even darker, this function adjusts exposure under or over the meter reading to get the best image. Exposure compensation is within the range of plus or minus 2.0EV in steps of 1/3EV. A built-in flash that can fire the correct amount of light even if the subject is as close as 15 cm / 5.9 inch. Macro photography requires the camera to be in close proximity to the subject. The camera or photographer typically casts a shadow and darkens the scene. The 5000G has a close-proximity flash that lights up subjects even when they're as close as 15 cm (telephoto). The 5000G ensures proper illumination of plants and detailed text while avoiding overexposure. Six scene modes that provide the flexibility to handle different subject situations with ease. Users can choose from six various modes: portrait, sports, text, high-sensitivity, night scene, and landscape. A simple touch of a button sets up the camera to shoot any of a variety of subject conditions. Three metering methods provide correct light metering in differing conditions. Users can choose multi, where the entire scene is segmented into 256 metered parts, central, where the metering point is placed in the center but balanced by light from the full scene, or spot, where the metering point is placed in the center and used alone to determine exposure. Accurate manual focus when autofocus can't focus on the subject. In low-contrast or low-light situations where autofocus can't successfully focus, users can focus manually to get a crisp focus. Image non-compression mode available for fine detail. In addition to the N (Normal) or F
The 5000G camera by itself has wide-angle image coverage that is the equivalent of a 28mm lens on a 35mm camera. Adding the 0.6x wide-angle conversion lens increases its wide-angle coverage to the equivalent of a 17mm lens. Easy lens mounting (image of the DX-5000G with the conversion lens being mounted)
Specifications:Lens construction: 3 elements in 3 groups Magnification: 0.6x Coverage angle: (underwater: 94 degrees, land: 150 degrees) Depth rating: 60 m / 200 ft. Dimensions: Maximum diameter 97 mm / 3.8 inches x length 52.5 mm / 2.1 inches Weight: 342 g / 12.1 oz. (underwater weight: 190 g / 6.7 oz.) *When the camera's zoom lens is in its widest setting, some vignetting (dimness at the corners) may occur. If so, zoom slightly towards telephoto to eliminate vignetting. *Can be used on land.
